Our mission is to create a model for global access to health care. And not just health care, but also caring for your health. Health involves regular treatment, and also integration of treatment into a healthy lifestyle.

Creating a healthy lifestyle involves coming into right relationship, restoring integrity. Because we are educators first and foremost, as we care for people, we also educate them. They learn to care for themselves. A new level of independence, responsibility, and wellness is born.

Modern day Los Angeles requires us to practice acupuncture in a way that is innovative and efficient, and compels us to meet the health care needs of our local communities. Community acupuncture was created with the deep intention of serving the people and opening the gateway to community health.

We engage in treatments in a space that is private, yet communal, collective, yet provides the opportunity for retreat. Each patient receives personal and heartfelt care and attention every time they come in for treatment, not just from the practitioners, but from the community itself.

At Urban Remedy, all our services and programs are designed to care for the needs of the individual within the context of community. If your healing process is totally isolated from your community, it will be difficult to sustain and progress. That doesn’t mean you have no privacy, but it does mean that others can benefit from the treatment you receive. Maybe the guy in line at Trader Joe’s or the girl selling jewelry on the boardwalk could benefit from acupuncture, and your story may make the difference. Participating in your own health makes you available for the possibility of creating health around you.

On a more structured level, we offer events and classes that generate strong relationships and create community action. Education is a powerful piece of our mission, empowering our patients to take their health back into their own hands, and do what they know intuitively to be right. Urban Remedy is designed to support them with the information and modalities that are practical and usable for their needs.
